Danny Ball:
Actor coaching
I'm a Greenroom Award winning actor, writer and producer with over 15 years of experience and I'm here to make you a better actor. Period.
I grew up in Melbourne to Italian-Australian parents before moving to Sydney, graduating NIDA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) in 2016. I’ve worked across many of the major theatre companies in Australia including Belvoir, Malthouse, Griffin, Queensland Theatre, Bell Shakespeare as well as in several television productions.
Most recently I performed the role of John Caleo in Holding the Man at Belvoir St Theatre, directed by Eamon Flack. Prior to that, a one man stage adaptation of Christos Tsiolkas’ Loaded at Malthouse Theatre, in which I won a Greenroom Award for Outstanding Performer - Theatre Companies.
My performance was described as ‘magnificent in all aspects’ (ArtsHub), ‘you can't take your eyes off him’ (The Australian Book Review) and this modest gem from Read My Blurb: ‘He gave one of the most captivating performances that either of us have ever witnessed … this man’s talent is unparalleled’.
Too kind.
And not wrong.
I have a life-long affliction for acting and storytelling and I am deeply passionate about helping actor’s seek their potential.
Life is short, auditions come and go, and if you want to know what you’re made of, well… you gotta get moving.
Do you want to scramble to fit in or stand out as one of the best actors in the world? I know what I’d rather.
In addition to my professional work as an actor, I’ve been trained and mentored in several processes of actor training: Meisner, Lee Strasberg, Stanislavsky and most notably: The Pleasure to Play with Kristine Landon Smith and Yat Malmgren’s Character Analysis with the late Penelope Chater.
